The Northwest Whitewater Cup Series kicks off the weekend of March 15-16, 2008 with the annual WKC Cedar River Race! Come on out to support the Seattle area’s whitewater slalom site! This year the Cedar will be the Northwest USACK Olympic Team Trials Qualifier for slalom. Directions: Located southeast of Seattle, the Cedar River slalom site is situated on City of Seattle and King County property where the Issaquah-Hobart road crosses the river at Landsburg. This is a permanent slalom training site. An old railroad grade, now a trail, follows the river downstream from the slalom course for almost 20 miles towards Lake Washington.
From Seattle, go east on I-90 and take the Front Street exit in Issaquah. After passing through Issaquah, Front Street changes its name to the Issaquah-Hobart Road. Follow this road for about 20 minutes to where the road crosses the river. Alternatively, take Highway 18, exit at the Issaquah-Hobart road and head towards Hobart. The river is about 5 minutes away.
