NW Cup Scoring Guidelines

The Northwest Cup is scored based on the results of the 8 cup series race, of which a racer's top 6 will be used to compute total points. You must compete in the same class in two or more races to be eligible to win. The points are awarded as follows: Your place in the NW Cup is determined by the addition of the points that are received at each race. To qualify for a final award you must attend at least two races in the series. If there is a tie the boater who attends the most races wins.If there is still a tie, the paddler competing in the larger class is placed higher. Everyone who enters receives a minimum of 1 point.

And finally, you must choose between classes in the same boat, ie. you can't get points at one race for both K-1 race boat and K-1 plastic boat, however you can get points for K-1 race boat and C-1 race boat at the same race (or K-1 and K-1W if anatomically possible).

There is no charge for entering the Northwest Cup Series, but donations are gratefully accepted.

The NW Cup organizers have final say in all aspects of the Series regarding tabulation of points and the rankings of the participants.  Awards are usually given at the first race of the next year.  The fun never ends!!
